Modelon has organized an FMI Technology Day to be held on November 6th from 10:00am to 4:00pm EST in Royal Oak, MI. In fact, they've put together a nice video describing FMI and why you might want to attend the event:
If you are interested in attending the event, please register now since attendance is limited.
I'll be there talking about model deployment. Specifically, I'll be showing off some work I've been doing helping customers build web-based engineering analysis tools for their Modelica models. FMI is a key enabler in this work and I'll be describing not just how FMI fits in to the process, but how information captured through FMI helps us automate the process of creating these web-based user interfaces.
In addition to the FMI Technology Day event, I'll be in the Bay Area speaking in a couple of different places:
In case you missed it, I was interviewed on Jeff Waters' LifeUpfront podcast on July 9th. We discussed various topics related to Modelica.
I have been invited to speak at the Dynamic Systems and Controls Conference on October 22nd in Stanford, CA. I'll be part of a special session from 12:25-1:25pm titled "What are the Fundamental Skills and Practices to Import to our Students" and my presentation is titled "Beyond System Dynamics and State-Space"
I'll be speaking again on October 24th at 4:10pm, this time on the Berkeley Campus. That talk is titled "Model-Based System Engineering: Past, Present and Future".
Finally, I'll be visiting Lawrence-Berkeley National Labratory on October 24th at 9:00am where I'll be giving a talk entitled "Modeling, Simulation and Deployment: An Industry Perspective".
